After a long, crazy journey filled with spreadsheets, disappointments, the daunting idea of buying property in the Bay Area (especially with our pickiness), endless planning and a mild Zillow addiction, we finally got our Claude Oakland-designed atrium model Eichler. It's a definite fixer, but we couldn't be happier to bring new life to this amazing home. In the meantime, we found the perfect emoji to describe it: 🏚! With so many of our friends getting pushed out of housing markets in Oakland/SF and into Concord, it was easy to justify settling here. Besides, Calicraft is a short dive away.

We are hoping to start a blog to document our progress, plans and updates, but in the meantime, we are using our instagram (@daviesdeldiablo) to chronicle everything. Feel free to follow along for style boards, Hank photo-bombs and pictures of Paul and I ripping out ugly bushes and scooping endless shovels full of tanbark! Our overall vision is to keep it minimal, efficient and to add a little latin-modern flare–think Acapulco chairs, the Ipanema boardwalk, cacti, lots of concrete and colorful folkloric art.
